BIOGRAPHY: She had epilepsy and was a source of tension in her family. Once sh was standing on the roof of their house flapping her arms like a chicken. Another time Bea and Ruth woke up to find her standing over them with a butcher knife. She was raped by an older brother of her girl friend who lived next door.

Did not have a very good relationship with his father, Rudolph. Found hi m abusive and cruel to his family. After he left home c 1932 he got a jo b bending glass tubing for neon signs in Springfield (1 yr) and then in M ilwaukee. He started his own neon sign business around the time he got m arried in 1938. He wanted to join the Air Force but was not accepted. T owards the end of WWII he joined the Army and was on his way to Manila b y ship on VJ day. After arriving in Manila he was allowed to travel to J apan and Australia for a short time. Then he hitched a ride home on a pl ane.
He resumed his married life and business. Took up flying, got his privat e licence in May 1947. Sally was born in July 1947. He got his commercia l pilot licence in Aug. 1949. He owned a Cessna 182 with 4 others. Hi s business florished and he had work in many mid-western states. One bi g national contract was with Howard Johnson hotel chain.
He loved to hunt deer and water fowl; often flew to Canada on hunting tri ps. Traveled to Australia in his Cessna and flew around the country an d to New Zealand. Had a very extensive sea shell collection .
Vic was close to his brother, Ernie. Enjoyed visiting with Ernie and hi s wife, Norie.
In 1981 he and Ella moved to Placida, FL where they lived for 20 yrs. Th ey moved to Arden, NC in 2002, nine months before Ella died. Vic then mov ed in with Sally and Woody in Arden.
